The conference will not be reserving hotel rooms but there are several nearby hotels to choose from, a list of nearby hotels is provided at this link: https://commons.utexas.edu/meetings-and-events/area-hotels. Call for Abstracts

​

The deadline for abstract submission for the upcoming NAMS Microfossils V conference 2026 is Wednesday, December 31, 2025. The conference schedule includes an optional afternoon core workshop followed by an icebreaker event (Wednesday, April 8th), two conference days at the J.J. Pickle Research Campus (Thursday-Friday, April 9-10), and an optional one day field trip (April 11).

 

Oral/poster topics (subject to change based on received abstracts):

  1. High-resolution biostratigraphy, chronostratigraphy and geochronology

  2. Microfossils and biofacies analysis: applications and challenges

  3. Integration of biostratigraphic data with sequence stratigraphic data and AI

  4. Paleoclimate, paleoceanography, paleoenvironments, and ocean chemistry proxies

  5. Microfossils and unconventional resources

  6. Taxonomy, phylogeny and evolution

  7. Other (suggestions for alternative topics are welcome)

 

Abstract submission guidelines:

Electronic submissions only, please. Email abstract submissions to nams.sepm@gmail.com with the subject line “M5 abstract submission.”

The abstract must be attached in Microsoft Word format (.docx or .doc). The Word document should contain the following information in order at the top of the page, followed by the abstract text:

  • Title of abstract

  • Author's name

  • Author's affiliation

  • Contact email address

  • Contact telephone number

  • Preference for oral or poster presentation, or state no preference (final decision on oral or poster presentation to be decided by the program committee)

 

Abstract formatting:

  • Line spacing: single

  • Text alignment: left justified

  • Font: 10 pt Arial

  • Title text and presenting author’s name in bold

  • Figures are encouraged but not required. A full color abstract book will be produced for the conference. Please attach any included figures to the email separately in .jpg or .pdf format.

  • References can be included but are not required.

  • Extended abstracts are encouraged, but should not exceed two pages in length.
